About HardDrive.net

Independent storage reviews from people who actually use this stuff.

HardDrive.net exists to answer one question: which storage drive should I actually buy? We test, compare, and rank the best SSDs, hard drives, NAS enclosures, and memory cards — and we tell you what’s worth your money, not what someone paid us to recommend.

What we cover

We focus on consumer and prosumer storage:

  • NVMe, SATA, and M.2 internal SSDs
  • External and portable SSDs
  • External hard drives for backup, travel, and bulk storage
  • NAS enclosures and NAS-rated drives
  • SD cards, microSD, and USB flash drives

How we make picks

Every product we recommend gets evaluated on real-world speed, durability, reliability under sustained workloads, warranty terms, and long-term value. We read manufacturer specs, third-party benchmarks, owner reviews, and field-failure data — and we say “skip it” when the numbers don’t add up.

We don’t take payment for placement. If a product is in our top picks, it’s because it earned the spot — not because the brand wired us money.

Affiliate disclosure

HardDrive.net is reader-supported. When you click a link to Amazon and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is what keeps the site running. It does not influence our picks. We list products in the order we’d actually recommend them — even when a different ranking would pay better.
